Profesional Dancer Explains How To Get Back In Your Body with

Nawal El Tememi

Be inspired to use dance and breath to move spinal fluid and reconnect with rhythm, pressure, and internal awareness.

This will make you want to dance.

Nawal describes the dance as a means of listening to the body. A tube of pressure and awareness that runs from the feet through the diaphragm and up the spine. When people slow down enough to feel what’s happening inside that structure, something interesting begins to happen: the body starts organizing itself. Nawal began her career performing and teaching belly dance around the world, but over time she became more interested in what the practice was doing internally — how breath, pressure, and rhythm influence awareness inside the body. That curiosity eventually led her into exploring spinning and whirling practices that induce deep flow states. This episode is really about Cerebral Spinal Fluid and how we get it to move. It’s about how movement can reconnect us with sensations we’ve forgotten how to feel — the diaphragm expanding, the feet gripping the ground, the spine becoming an axis around which awareness organizes itself. And how sometimes the fastest way back to presence it’s motion.

“Dance was never about performing. It was about discovering myself.”
