Profesional Singer: Why Most Young Singers Burn Out with

Rose Kelley

Learn why breath is the power and foundation of a voice that lasts under pressure and performance.

Rose Kelly interviewed me for a conversation about what makes a voice last.

So many young singers are taught to chase power, range, and high notes before they ever learn how to breathe. And that is part of why so many gifted voices burn out early. In this episode, I shared why I would never start a young singer with a performance. I would start them with breath. We talked about choir, resonance, tongue posture, diction, nasal clearing, diaphragm strength, and why the voice is never separate from the body carrying it. A singer is not just training sound. A singer is training pressure, rhythm, fascia, fluid flow, and the ability to stay open when adrenaline hits. This conversation is really about building mighty singers instead of fragile ones. It is about helping artists increase lung capacity, clear tension from the instrument, and learn how to hold more power without breaking themselves in the process. I want the next generation of singers to feel big. mighty, free, and full of soul.

“When we listen deeply—to our bodies and to sound—we create the space for true transformation.”
